Glass...

If you treat glass right, it doesn't crack. If you know the properties, you can make things; the color of dusk and night and love. But you can't control people like that and I really, really wish you could. I want the world to be glass.

Little German ABC

W is for Wald

Wald [valt] der <–(e)s, Wälder> wood(s), forest

Similiar words in German and English I found:

Wort [vɔʳt] - word
warm [vaʳm]
Wes·ten [ˈvɛstn̩] - west
 Wolf [vɔlf] - wolf

Sorry, I'm late and I haven't managed to participiate in all issues of last weeks.

Seventeen months...

They were Circassians.
For over 130 years lived in Syria.
Than the town bombed, their homes destroyed.
Families dead.
They had nothing to lose,
held each other's hands and went on the way.
They did not join a group,
didn't payd for smugglers to drown in the sea.
They took the landway, simply walked away
passing destroyed towns, across deserts
over mountains, trough valleys...
Rivers they crossed
peaceful or rough countries.
For seventeen months they were on the way.
Had good people met and bad
they saw destructed life, violence so many.
Forced into hiding and going away.
Nowhere they could stay.
The path was staying the goal.
They came to the land of their ancestors
but there wasn't just a good place.
They moved further north
feet they wore far.
Fatigue and dust of the journey in their faces.
In the endless vast they stopped for a break.
Leaning against each other, they sat in front of their small tent
under the large tent of stars
and she asked:
Do you hear them singing?
And he heard it too.
Far in the distance.
someone was singing.
And through the song sounds a little bit
like home.

The exercise is to write a story to a picture.
Today I've changed it and wrote to a song.

Trees, steam and afternoonlight

Connect...

Connect is the word of this week at Our Beautiful World.

Connected are the components of the water wheel.
So it can work (it was formerly used to raise ore from the mine).

Connected are the waggons of the stream train...

That I've seen on our sunday walk.

A water wheel works with water and a steam loco too, so I share this post with Wednesday Waters.
We haven't oceans or big waters here, only small creeks, but "working water" we are using.

Friday Five, crazy life and helleborus...

I

Crazy Life

I had no idea that when I invited life to take over that it actually would & now I’m somewhere miles away from any place I know & life keeps waving its arms & grinning like a crazy person saying This. Is. So. Great.

II

I made some collages works lately, want to finish by Christmas even a book as a gift.
The books I'm currently are no words, just picture books, telling the stories.
The connection of the images with texts by Storypeople only exists here at my  blog.
This is another game to combine these texts with pictures. It is simply fun.

In decembre of 2009 I got this basket with a helleborus niger as a birthday gift. Showed it here.
I planted it in the garden and it has become a stately plant. It made many small countersinks all over the area and delights me from late autumn to spring with wonderful flowers.
Photos made this week.

IV

I am happy and grateful for the mild weather in last time.
Enjoy walks on short days, whenever it's possible.
I don't need winter...

V

I can't understand this song (it's Hungarian)
but I like how the both are playing together.

Have a wonderful weekend all.

Graphical...

There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.

- Will Rogers -

I photographed this open gate just because of the shadows.
Found it by a chunky newly built house in an area of lovely little old houses.
Last year there was an old garden with a small arbor,
now there is a tasteless bunker-like box and a fence for an elephant...
The entire property is concreted.
It's so ugly and very  out of place that really want to pee on it -

From the house itself I haven't made a photo,
it was a feeling as if Security comes when I stand there longer ...

The water elf

The girl was still small, but her soul had many scrapes.
The home cold and dark and she was beaten so often.
In school was the same.
She likes to learn, but they called her nerd
and rushed and mock her day by day.
Often she did not dare to go to the school.
She likes to hide in the forest.
The trees were her friends and the creek.
Often she watched a dipper...

Even today she stayed quietly at the small waterfall.
There was a rustle, but it wasn't the bird.
Blinked up a little star and she saw the elf.
Dancing near by the water.
In the cold winterly forest.
And it came a shine on the girl
and she went home full of warmth and light.
No one she said that.
It was her sweet secret for a long time.

Linden in decembre

It stands in the cold
bare branches with mistletoes
I wish it good sleep.

Wie sie steht in der
Kälte die Zweige voll Misteln
ich wünsche ihr guten Schlaf
und nicht zu viel Sturm
