On the backside of the street

In such old outhouses were formerly often placed smaller workshops: carpenters, blacksmiths, saddlers, shoemakers or other trades.
Today these small trades are mostly extinct or displaced by big companies and the rear houses are empty or are utilized as stores.
Many also be expanded to apartments.

Kastanienbaum meiner Kindheit

Hier fand ich
meine ersten Kastanien
grüner Igelball
braun und glänzend
darin
und ich trauerte um jene
die im Wasser ertranken
wenn ich sie nicht mehr
retten konnte...
In 50 Jahren sah ich viele
Bäume von damals
sterben
dieser hier lebt
bis heute und auch
wegen ihm konnt ich
dieses Land
nie für immer
verlassen

Chestnut tree of my childhood

Here I found
my first chestnuts
green hedgehog balls
brown and shiny
therein
and I grieved for those
drowned in water
if I could not
save them...
In 50 years, I saw many
trees of yesteryear
die
this is still living
until today and also
because of it I could
this country
never forever
leave

Stretch lion ;-)

Have you ever seen such a long lion?
I always think of stretch limousines ...

Sedum spectabile

The sky above the wine terrace

Oktoberlied

Der Nebel steigt, es fällt das Laub;
Schenk´ ein den Wein, den holden !
Wir wollen uns den grauen Tag
vergolden, ja vergolden !

Und geht es draußen noch so toll,
Unchristlich oder christlich,
Ist doch die Welt, die schöne Welt,
So gänzlich unverwüstlich !

Und wimmert auch einmal das Herz, -
Stoß an und laß es klingen !
Wir wissen doch, ein rechtes Herz
Ist gar nicht umzubringen.

Der Nebel steigt, es fällt das Laub;
Schenk´ ein den Wein, den holden !
Wir wollen uns den grauen Tag
Vergolden, ja vergolden !

Wohl ist es Herbst; doch warte nur,
Doch warte nur ein Weilchen !
Der Frühling kommt, der Himmel lacht,
Es steht die Welt in Veilchen.

Die blauen Tage brechen an,
Und ehe sie verfließen,
Wir wollen sie, mein wackrer Freund,
Genießen, ja genießen !

- Theodor Storm

October song

The mist rises, it drops its leaves;
Pour a wine, the sweet!
We want the gray day
gilding, yes gilding!

And it's out there so great,
Un-Christian or Christian,
But the world, the beautiful world,
So completely indestructible!

And whimpers once the heart -
Impact on and let it sound!
We know, a right heart
Is not kill.

The mist rises, it drops its leaves;
Pour a wine, the sweet!
We want the gray day
Gilding, yes gilding!

Well it is autumn; but just you wait,
But just wait a little while!
Spring comes, the heavens laughs,
It is the world in violet.

The blue day break in,
And before they elapse
We want, my gallant friend,
Enjoying, yes enjoying!

- Theodor Storm -

A touch of Orient

A touch of the Orient was recently in our town at a street festival.
I think they are very special animals
and their fur just feels wonderful.

My cat...

Old power station

In the former GDR, the factories often had their own power stations, to be independet of power supply and failures.
I do not know if this is so today - many things are now organized differently and the factories are closed down ...
But I like this old building of the chocolate factory.
I very much hope it will not be demolished.
