На кирпичный завод нанялся.

Было трудно мне время первое,

Но зато проработавши год,

За веселый гул, за кирпичики

Полюбил я кирпичный завод.

На заводе том кралю встретил я,

Лишь, бывало, заслышу гудок,

Руки вымою и лечу я к ней

В мастерскую, в условленный срок.

Кажду ноченьку мы встречалися,

Где кирпич образует проход...

Вот за каралю ту, за кирпичики

Полюбил я кирпичный завод.

On the outskirts of Odessa city

I was born in a miserable family,

A lot of  sorrows and when I was fifteen,

I hired in  a brick factory.

First time was difficult for me ,

But after working here for a year,

For a merry rumble, for the bricks

I fell in love with the brick factory.

At the factory I had secret dates,

and when I heard the whistle,

I washed my hands and I flyed to her

In the workshop, at the agreed time.
